Podcast
Beyond Mommy Dearest is a trauma-informed podcast for adult daughters who grew up in families that looked functional on the outside but felt confusing, heavy, or unsafe on the inside. This is a space for people who were praised for being “strong,” “mature,” or “resilient” while being emotionally neglected, parentified, or harmed. A space for those who were taught to doubt themselves, minimize their needs, and carry responsibility far too early.
Hosted by Noelani Pearl Hernandez, a trauma-informed coach, organizational psychology consultant, and survivor herself, the podcast explores what healing actually looks like after narcissistic, emotionally immature, or abusive mothering.
We talk about:
-
Narcissistic and emotionally immature parenting
-
Gaslighting, guilt, and chronic self-doubt
-
Boundaries without shame
-
Nervous system regulation and safety
-
Estrangement, limited contact, and reunification realities
-
Reclaiming your voice, identity, and peace in adulthood
This podcast does not center the abusive parent. It centers you. Episodes blend psychoeducation, lived experience, coaching insight, and compassionate truth telling. No minimizing. No spiritual bypassing. No pressure to forgive or reconcile. If you have ever thought, “Why is this still affecting me?” or “Why does healing feel so hard even now?” you are not broken. Your body and nervous system learned how to survive.
Beyond Mommy Dearest exists to help you understand what happened, why it still shows up, and how to come home to yourself with clarity, steadiness, and self-trust.
You are not imagining it.
You are not alone.
And you are allowed to choose peace.
